Beautifully written, Rob. Thanks for helping me to discover this song. You captured how tough change can be. Appreciate you sharing. Music’s always been a guide for me and a place of relaxation and reflection.
What a beautiful piece, Rob. Thank you for getting me to listen to this song, which went promptly on my playlist for the month (in 2025, I am making a playlist for each month of the year, songs that come into my orbit from different sources). You touch on the difficulty of change and transition, and damn it's hard, isn't it! We all want to feel relevant and needed and yet sometimes I have found that when certain parts of our lives, certain roles, even companies we've created and poured ourselves into, come to an end--something else is opening up for us. Even if we can't see it. I hope you can sense it. I do, in this writing. Thanks for sharing. I also find so much guidance, meaning and richness from music, the soundtrack of my life through the decades.
Thank you Amy. Music has played a huge role in my life as well. I fancied myself a guitar player for a few decades and pursued music as a career for a while in my 20's and early 30's. This particular song just landed so beautifully when I heard it again the other day. It is an odd thing to be in the tail end of my career for all of this to happen. I do believe there are lessons here if I am willing to allow the Universe/God to teach me. I am still too raw and in the moment to see it yet but yes, I do sense something is afoot. On another note I hope your back pain is getting better. I do believe my current round of it is 100% about the uncertainty I am living with these days.

Thank you Jeff. Music has also been central in my life. Glad it resonated.
